The seminar featured a series of enlightening presentations covering a broad spectrum of critical topics, with contributions from local authorities such as PLANMalaysia (Unit Bandar Pintar), Majlis Bandaraya Seremban, and Majlis Bandaraya Shah Alam; private sectors and operators including GreenRE and MGTC; and academia represented by URBANICE Malaysia
One of the pivotal topic was Malaysia’s Smart City Direction. This presentation delved into the strategic initiatives and policies guiding the transformation of urban areas across Malaysia into smart cities. This plan serves as a roadmap for city planners, policymakers, and developers, providing a clear framework for the implementation of smart city initiatives.
Furthermore, the Low Carbon Cities Masterplan session was particularly noteworthy. This presentation emphasized the strategies and measures required to reduce carbon emissions within urban areas, aligning with global sustainability goals and MVV’s commitment to mitigating climate change. The masterplan includes a variety of approaches, such as enhancing energy efficiency, promoting renewable energy sources, and encouraging sustainable transportation options.
Throughout the seminar, the depth and breadth of information shared were truly impressive, offering participants a wealth of knowledge and practical insights.
