25 May 2025 – Our town planner, Aliff Nurhaqeem, had the opportunity to travel to Manchester to witness the final match of the 2024-2025 English Premier League between Manchester United and Aston Villa at Old Trafford Stadium.
The long 5-hour bus journey from Bristol to Manchester was worth it, as Manchester United won the match with a score of 2-0. The goals were scored by Amad Diallo in the 76th minute and Christian Eriksen in the 87th minute. This match also marked the final appearance for Jonny Evans, Christian Eriksen, and Victor Lindelöf. Manchester United ended the league season in 15th place with 42 points, making it a “disastrous” season that requires a strong comeback next season, as stated by manager Ruben Amorim at the end of the match.
