5 Jun 2026 – SW Planning Consultants Sdn. Bhd., led by the Executive Director, Encik Aliff Nurhaqeem and accompanied by Town Planners, Puan Hidayah and Encik Aizad together with Encik Amirul was invited as a guest speaker for a brief knowledge-sharing session entitled “Preparing Development Proposal Report (DPR)”. The session aimed to provide an introduction and overview of the DPR, as well as its practical implementation within the professional planning field, to Year 1 and Year 3 Urban and Regional Planning (URP) students at the Kuliyyah of Architecture and Environmental Design (KAED), International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM).
Throughout the session, Mr. Alif delivered a concise explanation on the importance of the DPR in supporting development applications. He emphasized that the report should be accurate, concise, and informative to facilitate better understanding among the Local Authority (PBT) and relevant agencies regarding the objectives and intentions of the proposed development application.
At the end of the session, the students demonstrated a strong interest in the topic and actively engaged in discussions by raising insightful and thought-provoking questions. In conclusion, this knowledge-sharing session marked the company’s first initiative in promoting its corporate profile while simultaneously contributing valuable insights and professional experiences to the younger generation. It is hoped that such engagements will encourage students to remain active in the field and continue upholding the urban planning profession in the future.
